The BAM-Solocontemporaneo Award was created with the aim of promoting and supporting the work of young emerging artists, offering them an important opportunity for visibility within the contemporary art scene.
A jury composed of Riccardo Ghirardini (Artistic Director and Project Manager of BAM Piemonte), Arturo Mosquera (Collector, Miami – USA), and Massimo Ghirardini (Director of Spazi dell’Arte Contemporanea magazine) will select a winner from among the five artists under 35 identified for this edition.
The award is aimed at artists under 35 and consists of an invitation to exhibit a work in one of the upcoming editions of the Biennale di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea del Piemonte (BAM), scheduled for 2026 or 2027.
The distinction between the two dates is linked to the annual alternation between BAM Piemonte and BAM On Tour, as well as to the type of work selected, which may be pictorial or sculptural.
BAM Piedmont Project
BAM Piedmont is an event dedicated to artists from Piedmont, or who work or have worked in Piedmont, with the participation of authors from other regions and abroad.
After a preview in 2002, the first official edition took place at Villa Giulia, Pallanza (Lake Maggiore). Since its inception, the exhibition has been curated by Edoardo Di Mauro, professor of History and Methodology of Art Criticism at the Accademia Albertina in Turin, where he was also director.
In 2026, the event will continue with BAM On Tour, scheduled (to be confirmed) at the Castle of Novara, before returning in 2027 with a new edition of BAM Piemonte, planned at the Fonderie Limone in Moncalieri.
Additional opportunity
At the end of the award, Solocontemporaneo will offer the winner the opportunity to be included in the limited edition print catalog, a series of 30 copies in 33×45 cm format on 300-gram Fedrigoni paper, with 50% of the proceeds going to the artist.

The MU.RO Collection is a private collection of contemporary art, born from the meeting between Elisabetta Roncati and Andrea Musto, two creative souls united by their love of art, culture, design, and the fusion of languages. The name MU.RO, which plays on the idea of the domestic wall as the guardian of the works and the initials of the founders’ surnames, sums up the nature of the project: a collection that thrives on relationships, elective affinities, research, and preservation.
The beating heart of this journey is Spazio MU.RO, a cultural laboratory of over 200 square meters in the heart of Milan. More than a classic exhibition venue, Spazio MU.RO is a fluid ecosystem where the public becomes an active part of exhibitions, talks, performances, and events that intertwine historical memory and contemporary experimentation, with a particular focus on young artists, hybrid languages, and global creative visions.
For the 2025 edition of The Others, MU.RO presents the first edition of the MU.RO Collection Award, intended for the acquisition of a work exhibited at the fair that will become part of the collection.
The central theme of the award is the human body understood as an archive of memories and identity, as a political and poetic space, as a map of fragility and metamorphosis. The figure becomes a lens through which to read the present: a universal but ever-changing symbol that unites individual and collective experiences, dialogues with inclusivity and queer voices, and bridges artistic tradition and technological innovation.
The award will therefore invite candidates to reflect on the body not only as a subject, but as a living presence that challenges the boundaries of medium and representation. Painting, sculpture, photography, installations, digital works, and hybrid languages: all techniques are welcome, because the essence of MU.RO Collection is plurality. Similarly, there are no age limits for artists: from emerging voices of Generation Z to established artists, any work that depicts the body with authenticity and narrative power can be proposed by the galleries present at the fair.
With this award, MU.RO Collection once again confirms its vocation: collecting not as an act of possession, but as an act of listening and responsibility. Each acquisition is a thoughtful choice, a narrative that becomes part of a constantly changing mosaic, where art becomes a mirror of our time and a heritage for the future.
The selection of the winning work will be entrusted to a scientific committee composed of:

The goal of the prize is the acquisition of an artwork, selected from those displayed at the fair’s stands, to be included in the Bordoli Collection.
The chosen piece will be determined by a jury composed of collector and founder of Operæ Award – Bordoli Collection, Emilio Bordoli, Operæ Award – Bordoli Collection CEO and art consultant Gloria Amorena, curator Lorenzo Bruni, and collector Chiara Casolo Ginelli.
The prize does not impose any age or technique restrictions, but its aim is to identify and acquire a work that reflects the core values of the Operæ Award – Bordoli Collection initiative, which was created by collectors for collectors. Specifically, the values sought are communicative creativity, empathy towards the viewer, and the strength of the message conveyed.
A central value of Operæ – the most widespread system for collection archiving and management on smartphones and tablets – is the desire to share and communicate the value of one’s collection. Above all, the jury will look for an optimistic and positive attitude, which, particularly in these challenging times – socially, historically, and geopolitically – should permeate the world of art and creative production.
In a world marked by challenges and uncertainties, art stands as a beacon of hope, visible from afar even to those who cannot see. This prize is dedicated to those extraordinary works that, despite adversity, manage to convey a message of trust and positivity to humanity. Trust is the root of hope, the attitude that allows us to look to the future with optimism, to believe in our abilities and the potential of others.
The prize aims not only to celebrate visual beauty and creativity but also to recognize the power of a work of art to inspire trust in human potential, in peaceful coexistence in harmony with creation, and in the conscious and ethical use of technology; and to promote a positive sense of security, serenity and calm. These are the elements that help overcome challenges, build stronger relationships, and look ahead the future and live the present with hope.
