The Others was created with the aim of giving a voice to emerging art, involving young galleries, artist-run spaces and project spaces, artists’ and curators’ collectives, as well as independent entities and non-profit organisations.

For the 2026 edition, the event aims to expand its exhibition programme by opening participation to publishers as well, not necessarily specialised in art, who develop editorial projects characterised by strong cultural and artistic value. Particular attention will be given to those organisations that promote contemporary research, experimentation with visual languages, editorial illustration, and children’s publishing — a field in which illustration plays a central role and becomes a privileged space for research, experimentation, and innovation in visual languages.
