The cultural programof The Others has been developed to highlight the many facets of contemporary artistic expression. Thanks to the contribution of the Curatorial Board and highly specialized faculty members, the proposed initiatives interpret the ongoing transformations in artistic language, reflecting its increasingly multidisciplinary nature and openness to cross-contamination. The Others continues to affirm itself as an incubator for emerging talent through collaborations with numerous Art Academies.
Performance Programme
Arena Talk
The performance program, curated by Lýdia Pribišová, explores the relationship between the body, urban space, and artificial intelligence, and includes performances by students of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, curated by Maja Štefančíková and developed under her guidance as an artist and lecturer in the Academy’s Performance Laboratory. Students from NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti and galleries participating in the fair have also been involved.
A schedule of talks curated by Elisabetta Roncati, featuring artists, curators, critics, collectors, intellectuals, and bold young figures from the contemporary world engaging in public conversations. It offers an opportunity to present emerging realities, experimental models—both established and yet to be discovered—ideas, insights, and diverse perspectives.
The videos selected from the Digital-Craft Journey AI (Video) call—addressed to students from five Italian Academies of Fine Arts (Turin, Milan, Bologna, Florence, and Catania)—engage in dialogue with the architecture of the exhibition space. The winning works explore the boundaries and possibilities of artificial intelligence in art or within the domestic environment. Completing the focus on video art are the proposals from participating galleries, selected and curated by Carolina Ciuti..
The site-specific sound works, selected through an international open call organized in collaboration with ABA Rome, investigate the role of urban space in the era of smart cities and digital connections. The winning works—composed of pure sound—are installed in the entrance stairwell, transforming access to the 14th edition of The Others into an “immersive” threshold that establishes a hypothetical dialogue between the city and the exhibition spaces.
